The theme for 2024 is “be the reason for someone’s smile today.” thousands of people worldwide await life-saving organ transplants each year. The day aims to promote the importance of organ donation and dispel related myths. It also honors organ donors who have saved lives and given others a chance at a healthy life.

” Notes:madhya pradesh has become the first state in India to give cash to adolescent girls for sanitary napkins. The cash is part of the state’s sanitation and hygiene scheme. Eligible school girls (class 7-12) receive ₹300 annually. Over ₹57 crore has been distributed to more than 19 lakh girls. The state also launched the udita program in 2016 to address social taboos and raise awareness about menstruation. Under udita, women and girls up to 45 years old can receive a free pack of six sanitary pads every month.”

” Notes:the India rankings 2024 were released by the union education minister, based on the national institutional ranking framework (NIRF). Iit madras ranked 1st in the overall category for the sixth year and in engineering for the ninth year. Iisc Bengaluru topped the universities category for the ninth year and research institutions for the fourth year.

IIM ahmedabad ranked 1st in management for the fifth year. Aiims Delhi topped the medical category for the seventh year. Jamia hamdard, Delhi, ranked 1st in pharmacy. Nlsiu Bengaluru retained 1st position in law. Nirf was launched in 2015 and uses five broad parameters for ranking. The 2024 edition introduced three new categories: state public universities, open universities, and skill universities, and integrated “innovation” rankings.”

” The odisha Government has partnered with united nations (UN) world food programme (WFP) to launch ‘grain automated teller machine (ATM)’ also known as annapurti, India’s first round-the-clock grain atm in bhubaneswar (ODISHA).  Odisha becomes the first state in India to provide access to the public distribution system (PDS) beneficiaries 24/7. The grain atm was recognized as one of the wfp’s top 5 innovative solutions for disrupting hunger at the wfp innovation awards in 2022. It can dispense grains weighing up to 50 kilogram(KG) in five minutes, with an error rate of 0.01%, reducing 70% waiting time.”

” Property share (propshare investment manager private limited) became the 1st fractional ownership platform (FOP) to received India’s 1st small and medium real estate investment trust (sm reit) license from the securities and exchange board of India (SEBI) under the newly notified sm reit regulations. It received the license under the name of property share investment trust (PSIT). Property share is the investment manager to psit. ” On 9th august 2024, the ministry of home affairs (MOHA) has constituted 5-member committee headed by  ravi gandhi, additional director general (ADG), border security force (BSF) and eastern command of the Indian army(IA) to monitor the current situation on indo-bangladesh border (IBB).

The committee is entrusted with responsibility to maintain communication channels with their respective counterpart authorities in bangladesh to ensure the safety and security of Indian nationals, hindus and other minority communities living in the strife-torn country. The committee is formed after several reports of hindu community and its temples were targeted ever since sheikh hasina stepped down from the post of bangladesh prime minister (PM) and escaped to India (on 5th august, 2024) and violence erupted across bangladesh.”
