Over 80,000 bids were made by travellers across India to visit kerala’s prime destinations at low prices. The campaign generated more than 45 million impressions and over 13 million video views. Some participants won tour packages worth ₹30,000 for just ₹5. Kerala tourism received the award in bangkok on august 28, 2024.”

” Notes:ministry of youth affairs and sports launched the “retired sportsperson empowerment training” (RESET) programme on national sports day in new Delhi. The reset programme aims to empower retired athletes who have brought glory to the country. It supports retired athletes by providing them with knowledge and skills for career development, making them more employable. The programme will connect generations, allowing retired athletes to mentor and inspire young aspiring athletes. Their experience will help in developing future champions and boosting sports in India. Applications will be invited through a dedicated portal, with programs based on educational levels of class 12th and above, and class 11th and below.”

The complex supports 24 types of indoor and outdoor games. Three centres of excellence for wrestling, weightlifting, and athletics have been established to promote new talent. The sports university offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in sports management, nutrition, and science, with a large sports library.”

The project is based on the sparsh digital pension system, simplifying pension processes for defence personnel. Reception and facilitation centers were set up through an mou between the Indian army, csc e-governance India limited, and hdfc bank. These centers offer sparsh-enabled pension services and other citizen services at one location. In the first phase, 14 centers were established in key cities like new Delhi, jalandhar, and bangalore. ” The Indian space research organisation (ISRO) has successfully demonstrated a technique to collect data on soil moisture, surface inundation, and ocean surface wind and wave measurements, by using satellite-based sensor global navigation satellite system reflectometry(gnss-r) that is 475 kilometer (KM) above the earth. Gnss-r instrument is developed by the isro’s space application centre (SAC) and it is India’s 1st space-borne precision receiver. The raw data collected by the gnss-r instrument is being processed at the isro’s national remote sensing centre (NRSC) in shadnagar, hyderabad. ” The ministry of petroleum and natural gas (MOPNG), Government of India (GOI) assigned satish kumar vaduguri with the additional charge of chairman of the Indian oil corporation limited (IOCL). He will replace shrikant madhav vaidya, the incumbent chairman, who is set to retire on 31 august 2024. The mopng also appointed rajneesh narang with the additional charge of chairman and managing director (CMD) of the hindustan petroleum corporation limited (HPCL).

He will replace the incumbent cmd pushp kumar joshi, who is scheduled to retire on 31 august 2024. Both have been given the additional charge for 3 months with effect from 1 september 2024 or till the appointment of a regular incumbent to the post or until further orders, whichever is earliest. Satish kumar vaduguri is currently serving as the director (MARKETING) of the iocl. Rajneesh narang is currently serving as the director (FINANCE) of the hpcl.”

” On 29th august 2024, Indian naval ship (INS) arighat, the 2nd arihant-class ssbn(ship, submersible, ballistic, nuclear), was commissioned into the Indian navy at visakhapatnam, andhra pradesh (AP) in the presence of union minister rajnath singh, ministry of defence (MOD). It is India’s 2nd indigenous nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine, after ins arihant which was commissioned into service in august 2016.Arihant is a sanskrit word which means ‘destroyer of the enemy’.

Ins arighat retains the same reactor and dimensions of ins arihant such as: displacement of 6,000 tonnes and is powered by  an 83 megawatt (MW) pressurized light-water reactor with enriched uranium (U), but has several technological upgrades. It can attain speeds up to 24 knots (44 km/hr) when submerged and about 12-15 knots (22-28 km/rh) on surface level. It has 4 missile launch tubes. Each tube can carry up to three k-15 submarine-launched ballistic missiles (SLBM) with a range of 750 km, or one k-4 slbm, that has a range of 3,500 km. Both are capable of carrying nuclear warheads”

” Union minister annapurna devi, the ministry of women and child development (MOWCD) has launched the ‘she-box portal’, a centralized platform for registering and monitoring complaints of sexual harassment of women at the workplace. Annapurna devi has also launched a new website of the mowcd at new Delhi, Delhi. The she-box portal acts as a centralised repository for information about internal committees (ICS) and local committees (LCS) formed across India, covering both the public and private sectors. It also includes a designated nodal officer to enable real-time monitoring of complaints, resulting in a faster and assured redressal process.”
