” Notes:during the republic day parade, arunachal pradesh highlighted its singchung bugun village community reserve, a 17-square-kilometer biodiversity hotspot near eaglenest wildlife sanctuary. established in 2017, the reserve safeguards the bugun liocichla, a critically endangered passerine bird named after the buguns community. the buguns, an indigenous group of around 2,000 people, inhabit 12 villages adjacent to eaglenest. community reserves, introduced in india’s wildlife protection act, serve as vital buffers, connectors, and migration corridors between national parks and forests, ensuring biodiversity conservation.”

” Notes:isro and imd collaborate for a new meteorological satellite, part of a climate observatory series to enhance climate services. the geosynchronous launch vehicle (gslv-f14) will deploy it, joining insat-3d and insat-3dr. the satellite boasts improvements like night-time imaging, accurate sea surface temperature estimation, and higher spatial resolution. its payloads include a multispectral imager, a 19-channel sounder, data relay transponder, and a search and rescue transponder.”

” Notes:the indian air force (iaf) conducted exercise desert knight with the french air and space force (fasf) and the united arab emirates (uae) air force on january 23–24, 2024. the exercise took place over the arabian sea, with the iaf operating from its west coast bases and the uae and france operating from al dhafra airbase. the exercise’s main focus was to improve synergy and interoperability between the three air forces. the iaf said that such exercises demonstrate the growing diplomatic and military interactions in the region, as well as the iaf’s capabilities.”
