Sachin Tendulkar scored his 100th international century against Bangladesh in the Asia Cup on 16 March 2012 at Mirpur. It took him almost two years after scoring his 99th century to reach this milestone.

Sachin Tendulkar scored the first-ever double century in ODI cricket — 200* against South Africa at Gwalior on 24 February 2010. He became the first player in ODI history to achieve this landmark.

Rohit Sharma scored 264 runs against Sri Lanka in an ODI at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on 13 November 2014. He also holds the record for most double centuries in ODI cricket with three such innings.

India won the Cricket World Cup in 1983 under Kapil Dev's captaincy, defeating the West Indies (two-time defending champions) in the final at Lord's. Kapil Dev's catch to dismiss Vivian Richards was a turning point of the final.

Virender Sehwag holds the record for the highest individual score by an Indian in Test cricket — 319 against South Africa in Chennai in 2008. He also scored 293 against Sri Lanka and is one of India's greatest opening batters.

Kapil Dev played his famous 175* innings when India were in deep trouble at 17/5 against Zimbabwe in the 1983 World Cup at Tunbridge Wells. He was dropped on 0 off the first ball he faced and went on to score 175 off 138 balls with 16 fours and 6 sixes.

Sunil Gavaskar was among the inaugural inductees into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame in 2009. He was the first batsman to score 10,000 runs in Test cricket and held the record for most Test centuries (34) until Sachin Tendulkar surpassed it.

Sachin Tendulkar scored 51 centuries in Test cricket, the most by any player. He also scored 49 centuries in ODIs (total 100 international centuries). His 51st Test century came against Bangladesh in 2010.

VVS Laxman scored 281 in the famous Kolkata Test against Australia in 2001. Along with Rahul Dravid (180), Laxman helped India follow-on and win the match. It is widely regarded as one of the greatest Test innings of all time.

India became the first Asian team to win a Test series in Australia under Virat Kohli's captaincy in 2018-19, winning 2-1. India retained this series win in 2020-21 under Ajinkya Rahane (when Kohli returned home), winning 2-1 again.

Anil Kumble holds the record for most wickets in Test cricket among Indians with 619 wickets. He is the third highest wicket-taker in Test history (after Muttiah Muralitharan and Shane Warne). Kumble famously took all 10 wickets in an innings against Pakistan in 1999.

Rohit Sharma holds the record for most sixes hit by an Indian in T20 Internationals. He is also India's most successful T20I captain and led India to win the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

India won the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and USA under Rohit Sharma's captaincy, defeating South Africa in the final. Virat Kohli scored the match-winning innings of 76 in the final. This ended India's 11-year ICC trophy drought.

Rohit Sharma is the only batsman in history to score three ODI double centuries — 209 vs Australia (2013), 264 vs Sri Lanka (2014), and 208* vs Sri Lanka (2017). His 264 remains the world record for the highest individual score in ODIs.
